UPSET PREVENTION AND RECOVERY TRAINING
Be prepared. It’s the right thing to do.
Patty Wagstaff Aviation Safety offers Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRTA). Our one-day, two flight course in the Extra 300L is taught by our highly experienced Certified Flight Instructors and developed in accordance with current IATA, ICAO and FAA guidelines.
LOSS OF CONTROL IN-FLIGHT
Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I) is the leading cause of aviation fatalities today. Our goal is to help students understand the causes of Upsets that can lead to LOC-I and to learn to recognize and avoid them and, when necessary, recover from them.
While simulator training is valuable for the professional pilot to train and prepare for a variety of emergency situations, in-cockpit upset training is extremely important as it allows more realistic scenarios in exploring conditions leading to and recovering from an actual flight upset.
Gain skill and confidence to recognize and avoid upset conditions
• Make appropriate and timely control inputs when faced with an upset
• Learn life-saving upset recovery skills that are transferable to any aircraft you fly
• Get outside your “normal” envelope in a controlled, safe and predictable environment
• Ultimately get more enjoyment out of your flying!

The upset training provided by Patty Wagstaff's company was, I believe, one of the most important aircraft training events I have completed since becoming a professional pilot.

Patty and her entire crew were a pleasure to work with and made the program informative and enjoyable. I would recommend their services to anyone looking to avoid a “bad attitude”. I can’t wait to do it again!
Jon A.
The instructors were very experienced, knowledgeable and helpful in making sure you get the most out of the training as well, by allowing you to push your body and the aircraft in ways we as professional pilots seldom get to do!
Joseph I.
This was some of the best flight training I've done. Without a doubt, it was the most fun I've had flying!
Hank B.
It was the single best training event that I have had during my 30 year career.

The training has truly increased my confidence level and was a great refresher to the appropriate recovery technique. Having flown for the regional airlines I have experienced upset attitude training...however it was performed in the simulator. This simulator training was nowhere near as effective as being in the airplane. Thanks again for the wonderful experience!
